Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC)

 

Core Activity

 

  1. Grievances of students, if any, are brought to the notice of the Head of the institution, and the issues are amicably and promptly solved.
  2. The college management is also considerate about any issues that might need their attention and intervention.
  3. Suggestion boxes are kept in the campus in which the stakeholders can put their grievances/complaints. The authority will go through the same and tries to solve if possible and it will be treated with confidentiality.
  4. The Grievance Redressal Cell intends to find solutions for problems like any kind of physical or mental harassment, complaints regarding class room teaching, classroom management, completion of syllabus, teaching methods etc.
  5. Any grievance/ complaint received by the stakeholders is discussed by the grievance redressal committee to arrive at a concrete solution

Mentoring

 

  • The staff member should conduct counselling/meetings every week during the semester with the allotted students.
  • The detailed data of each allotted student should be collected in the format provided in a register (to be continued in the previous register).
  • Any difficulties or problems faced by the allotted student should be noted and taken to the concerned committee (ICC/ Ant ragging/grievance committee) for relevant action
  • The teacher should counsel the students for career guidance and higher studies preparation from the gross root level.
  • The Parents/Guardians of poor attendee/performance students are called to meet the mentors and corrective and preventive measures are implemented for further improvement.

 

Grievance Redressal

 

  • Receives complaints of students from complaint boxes and directly from students for redressal of grievances. The cases will be attended promptly on receipt of written representation from the students.
  • Deals with all the Grievances directly which are related to the common problems at Institute level both academic and administrative.
  • Reviews all cases and will act accordingly.
  • Reports to the authority about the cases attended and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.

Mentoring

 

  • To counsel the students on academic, career as well as personal issues by respective mentors on a regular basis and to keep track of the progress of the mentee.
  • To fill up the Counselling register.
  • To provide discipline-specific academic counselling and current information regarding the most efficient route for completing a four-year B.Tech. Program.
  • To discuss Course prerequisites and skills needed for effective completion of the program completion
  • To conduct frequent discussions with their parents/guardians on issues relating to academic and others.
  • To record all the details of all the above for reference at times of need in the Counseling
  • To address the grievances by referring to the Committees concerned (ICC/ Anti-ragging/Grievance Committee) for appropriate action.

 

Grievance Redressal

 

  • To introduce a fair, impartial and consistent mechanism for Redressal of various issue faced by the students/parents.
  • To develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all stakeholders, there by maintaining a harmonious atmosphere in the campus
  • To advise stakeholders to respect the right and dignity of one another, and not to behave in a vindictive manner towards any of them for any reason;
  • To ensure the grievances are resolved promptly, neutrally and in complete confidentially.
  • To uphold the dignity of the GIST by promoting cordial student-teacher relationship.
